Project: Silverlake Reservoir

DATES: August 2015 - June 2016
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

Description

The Sharma team excavated and screened more than 380,000 cubic yards of rocky materials their part in the process of repairing the iconic Silverlake Reservoir. Any rocks larger than 6 inches were removed and recompacted to 95% relative compaction. All oversized material from the screening operation was crushed to a 3 inch minus material. Sharma also provided shoring for this project in order to complete the deeper excavation where open cuts weren’t feasible.

Challenges

Timing was vital on this project and Sharma continuously ran two simultaneous screening operations to maintain the project schedule.
