Project: Playa Vista Campus

DATES: June 2015 - January 2016
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

Description

This high tech development required the excavation and export of more than 75,000 cubic yards of soil from two parcels. Every day on the job, the Sharma crew moved an average of 200 truckloads (or 2,800 cubic yards) of earth. The team excavated around footings, pile caps and grade beams, and hauled off spoils. They completed their job by providing structural backfill and finish grading around pile caps, grade beams and footings.

Challenges

This project featured several areas that were exceptionally tight for excavation and backfill work. The finish grading was complicated by structures and working around other trades.
