Description
The Wilshire Grand Center was an extremely difficult project due to complicated logistics. The project set the stage for constructing the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. This high profile, fast-paced and challenging excavation resulted in an 85’ deep basement. All said and done, the Sharma crew exported 225,000 cubic yards of soil, 40,000 tons of which was contaminated and/or hazardous.
Challenges
Sharma General Engineering Contractors designed and pioneered a work plan for collaborating with parallel trades including demolition and shoring for continuous double shift operation. The result was a savings of four weeks to the overall schedule.
